My stay at the Washington Square Inn was a mixed bag. While I found the location perfect for exploring San Francisco and the staff were friendly, the room felt dated and there were quite a few disappointments, especially regarding the breakfast options.

Rooms
6.0
My room had a tired look, and despite being clean, it was quite small. Navigating the stairs to reach my room was a hassle, especially with luggage, as I had to climb two long sets of stairs.
Service
6.0
The staff were generally friendly, but I found the service could be inconsistent. At times, it felt like they weren't fully attentive or available when needed.
Location
9.0
The location is fantastic and really has the vibe of San Francisco. I loved that it was within walking distance to great eateries and attractions like Chinatown and Union Square.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was disappointing; the pastry options were limited and not very filling, especially compared to what I found nearby. The coffee was lackluster too, which was a letdown.
Facilities
5.0
The inn showed signs of needing some renovations, and the overall upkeep could be improved. The bathroom had some issues with inconsistent water temperatures, which was frustrating.

My recent stay at the Washington Square Inn had its ups and downs. The location is fantastic, making it easy to explore San Francisco, but the service left a lot to be desired. It felt like the charm of the place was overshadowed by unresponsive management and a lack of hospitality.

Rooms
5.0
I stayed in a Junior Suite with a great view over the gardens, but some rooms felt cramped and had issues like electronic keys that didn't work.
Service
5.0
Unfortunately, the service was not up to par. The staff seemed indifferent and difficult to reach, which was frustrating during my stay.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was ideal for exploring the Bay Area; it was close to Little Italy and Chinatown, making it easy to walk to attractions.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were minimal, more like a hostel vibe than what I expected from a hotel. The pastries served were very limited.
Facilities
5.0
The tech aspects of the check-in process could be difficult, especially for those not comfortable with apps. There were maintenance staff around, but no front desk assistance, which was inconvenient.

During my stay at the Washington Square Inn, I appreciated the quaint charm and excellent location near Washington Square Park, making it easy to explore key attractions like Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown. My room was clean and spacious, although there were some minor noise issues at night. While the staff was polite, I did notice some gaps in service during check-in. Overall, it was a lovely stay but not without its quirks. 😊

Rooms

I had a spacious suite, and the cleanliness was commendable. However, some bathrooms appeared quite small and cramped. The shower in particular was a bit of a challenge.
Service
6.0
The service was mostly polite and friendly, with staff helping with luggage. However, attention to detail could be improved, as I faced some hiccups during check-in and missed communications.
Location
9.0
The location is fantastic, just a short walk from Little Italy and close to major attractions. It made my daily city explorations very convenient.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast options were minimal, but the granola was generous in portion. I found the wine and cheese hour to be a nice touch for mingling.
Facilities
6.0
Housekeeping was thorough, and the hotel had a charming vintage feel. However, the lobby's recent updates felt more like a chain hotel than the cozy atmosphere I remembered.

I had a mixed experience at Washington Square Inn. The location was fantastic, close to popular areas like Little Italy and Chinatown, making it easy to explore. However, the staff could have been more attentive and the bathroom situation left much to be desired; the shower was incredibly cramped. On the plus side, the complimentary breakfast and evening wine and cheese were enjoyable perks, but the overall experience felt a bit lacking.

Rooms
5.0
I found the room quaint and vintage in style, but it was quite small, and the bathroom was really cramped. The shower was the smallest I’ve ever encountered, making it a challenge to navigate. Overall, the room was clean but definitely in need of some updates.
Service
5.0
I experienced some frustration with the service. After ringing the doorbell multiple times to check in, it took quite a while for someone to assist us. There were also instances when staff were missing or difficult to reach, which impacted my overall satisfaction.
Location
8.0
The location is a huge plus! It's right by Washington Square Park, and I loved how close it was to attractions like Fisherman’s Wharf and Chinatown. Being in such a vibrant area really enhanced my stay.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast was decent and included various options, but not overly impressive. I appreciated the complimentary wine and cheese in the evenings; that was a nice touch to unwind at the end of the day.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had charming decor, but I found it lacking in modern facilities. The absence of on-site staff was a downside, especially when needing quick assistance or information.

I had an okay experience at the Washington Square Inn. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Santa Francisco's vibrant Italian neighborhood, which made exploring easy. However, my room was on the smaller side, and it could definitely use some updates. While the staff was friendly, I felt the lack of a dedicated receptionist at times, especially with the reliance on a digital check-in system that didn’t always cooperate.

Rooms
5.0
My room was the smallest option and honestly felt cramped; there was hardly any space for luggage, and the bathroom was tiny. I noticed some outdated features like stained carpets and the occasional maintenance issue, which was disappointing given the price.
Service
5.0
The staff was warm and friendly, but there was no one around for quick assistance during my stay, making me feel a little isolated. I didn't appreciate the digital-only check-in system, which was awkward at times.
Location
9.0
Location-wise, this place couldn’t be better! It's walking distance to major attractions like Coit Tower and Pier 39, plus there are loads of great restaurants and cafes around. I really got the feel of San Francisco from this neighborhood.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast is served at small tables in the foyer and is ordered the day before, which is a bit different. I would've preferred something more traditional, but at least the happy hour with free cheese and wine was a nice touch.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities are in need of some serious TLC. The lobby redesign didn't feel inviting and seemed more like a chain setup. Overall, it felt a bit cold, lacking the charm I hoped for.
